Official launch of Picture Coffs Harbour - 08 September 2009

Picture Coffs Harbour, a joint digitisation project of Coffs Harbour City Library and Coffs Harbour Regional Museum, will be officially launched by the Mayor, Cr Keith Rhoades, on Tuesday 8th September 2009.

Picture Coffs Harbour is an online picture library of the Coffs Harbour region's heritage, which aims to both digitally preserve Council's historical photographic collections and to also improve public access to these unique and valuable images. Web access to the Picture Coffs Harbour online catalogue will be made publicly available just prior to the launch.

Over 1,000 photographs have been digitised and catalogued so far, with approximately another 2,500 yet to be done - the Library and Museum's work on this community heritage project is ongoing. The project was funded by a Library Development Grant from the Library Council of NSW.

All interested people are invited to attend the launch.
