Two local writers will be at Coffs Harbour Library on Thursday evening, May 28th, to talk about the joys and difficulties of writing, getting published, to present their works and answer any questions you may have.
Ian Ridgway of Port Macquarie is the author of the acclaimed trilogy Red Cedar, Red Gold. Drawing upon true stories and bushmen's tales, some of his own family history and personal experiences Ian has created what he describes as 'fiction based on fact' in this accurate snapshot of an era only a generation passed.
Michael Davies has spent most of his life travelling and working around the world, he filled in the hours by writing novels, from science fiction to political thrillers and now has seven titles in print.
Spend the evening with Ian and Michael as they discuss so many of the issues that occupy the thoughts of writers today ...
- How to get your work published
- Ways to promote your next best seller
- Writers support groups - how to make the most of what's available
- Developing research skills
As local authors, Ian and Michael are both keen to take the opportunity to develop writing culture in the region, and look forward to sharing their ideas with other scribes.
Please RSVP to the Library by 22 May for catering purposes - phone 6648 4900 or coffs.library@chcc.nsw.gov.au.
