Library & Information Week 2008 Wrap-up!
Library & Information Week 2008 - a great success!
Judy Atkinson, Library Programs Officer, with children enjoying the story Arthur by Amanda Graham, the book chosen for the National Simultaneous Storytime event.
On Wednesday 21 May 2008, libraries across the country from Broome to Hobart, read the picture book Arthur to more than a quarter of a million Australian children.
Arthur is about a small brown dog and the library continued the theme by having a visit from two Labrador puppies and a French poodle!
The 'Biggest Morning Tea' held on 23 May was a big hit with barely a skerrick of cake left at any of the branches, and many people reserved the new stock on display.

Also, a group of motorcycle-riding librarians visited Coffs Harbour Library as part of 'Biblio Tourisimo'.
Biblio Turismo is a yearly NSW public library event where librarians from across the state meet and visit public libraries over a three day period. It is all done on motorbikes and the event is used to help promote public libraries. All those working in the library industry and their partners are invited to participate.
An afternoon tea was organised for the bike riders on the Friday and was a very pleasant way to finish Library week. Our thanks go to North Coast V Twins for lending the Moto Guzzi motorbike for dispaly in the library and to the Coffs Harbour Ulysses Club for attending.
We hope everyone enjoyed Library Week as much as we did!
