Let's Read Program

Coffs Harbour City Library is proud to partner with UnitingCare Burnside and other community organisations to bring the successful early childhood reading program "Let's Read" to Coffs Harbour.
As stated on the official Let's Read web site:
- Let's Read is an exciting initiative to promote reading with young children 0-5 years.
- There is a range of components to Let's Read. These work together to support and empower parents/carers to read with their young children.
- Let's Read aims to give children the skills they will need to learn to read when they start school.
- Let's Read is designed to be owned by and delivered in the community.
The Coffs Harbour office of UnitingCare Burnside is facilating the program locally and has set up a steering committee, of which the Library is a member, to ensure community ownership and to drive its delivery.
FREE kits are delivered to first-time parents which include an instructional DVD, fact-sheets and a picture book. Copies of the DVD and the suggested books for reading to children are also available for loan from the Library.
