Landscape Corridors of the Coffs Harbour LGA

EXHIBITION PERIOD IS NOW CLOSED

Council resolved at its meeting of 25 September 2014 to exhibit the Landscape Corridors of the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area and accompanying map for a period of 60 days. Council This has now been extended for an extra month.

Council extended the public exhibition period for the Landscape Corridors of the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area – Consultation draft until Friday 30 January 2015 to allow all interested parties to express their views/concerns on this important strategic document.

The exhibition period went from Wednesday 8 October 2014 to Friday 30 January 2015. 

Landscape corridors are areas of land that link similar plant and animal habitats. Corridors are vital for the continuation of viable populations as they enable migration, colonisation and breeding. The fragmentation and loss of habitat links are two of the main contributors to the decline of biodiversity in our landscape.

The Consultation Process

There will be three stages to the Landscape Corridors of the Coffs Harbour LGA consultation process:

  • Stage 1: Targeted stakeholder consultation involving key interest groups
  • Stage 2: Broader community consultation
  • Stage 3: Workshops with individual groups and landowners and individual property owners as required

The Landscape Corridors of the Coffs Harbour LGA will be on exhibition for 60 days to assist landholders and stakeholders understand the scientific methodology and allow enough time for interested parties to seek information and make a submission.
