Draft Boambee Newports Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan
Notice is hereby given that Council, at its meeting of 25 February 2016, resolved to place the Boambee Newports Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan on public exhibition.
 
The exhibition period will be for 28 days, from 7 March 2016 to 1 April 2016. Submissions to the Boambee Newports Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMS&P) are to be addressed to the General Manager, Locked Bag 155, Coffs Harbour, 2450, or via the Coffs Harbour City Council website, and will be received no later than the close of business on 1 April 2016.
 
To present the Boambee Newports Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan to the community, and assist residents who have questions about it, a Community Information Session is being held at 7:30pm on Wednesday 30 March 2016 at the Boambee East Community Centre, Bruce King Drive, Boambee East.
 
The session presentation will include an outline of the mitigation options investigated within the study, and the mix of management measures and strategies proposed for managing future flood risk and damage within the Boambee Newports Creek floodplain.
 
Copies of the Boambee Newports Creek FRMS&P document can be viewed at Council's Administration Building, the Coffs Harbour and Toormina Libraries and on Council's website below.  Further enquiries can be directed to Council's Waterways Engineer, Mr Martin Rose, at Council on 6648 4421 during normal business hours.

Council is committed to openness and transparency in its decision making processes.  The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA) requires Council to provide public access to information held unless there are overriding public interest considerations against disclosure.  Any submissions received will be made publicly available unless the writer can demonstrate that the release of part or all of the information would not be in the public interest.   However, Council is obliged to release any document by court order or other specific law.
