The Yandaarra Aunty Grace Roberts Community Development Awards celebrate the amazing work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who make a positive difference in the local community.

The awards have been running for 26 years and are a major event as part of local NAIDOC celebrations on Gumbaynggirr Country. The awards commemorate Aunty Grace Roberts who worked tirelessly for her community and is recognised for her leadership and guidance.

Nominations for the 2024 awards are open from Wednesday 3 April to Friday 3 May 2024, with seven award categories covering individuals, organisations and businesses.

Nominate online here coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/NAIDOCWeek or collect a printed form from the City of Coffs Harbour Customer Service centre, level 1 Yarrila Place. You can also look out for nomination forms at local community services and venues.

Winners will be announced as part of 2024 NAIDOC Week celebrations, at an awards ceremony on Monday 8 July 2024 at Yarrila Place, River Oak Room. Everyone is invited to be part of this shared celebration of community and culture.

National NAIDOC Week celebrations happen across Australia starting on the first Sunday of July each year. They celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We’re proud to be presenting a series of NAIDOC Week celebrations for 2024. We extend a warm welcome to everyone to come together and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culture; here as a local community on Gumbaynggirr Country.
