Like to work with like-minded people to make Coffs Harbour a better place?

Everyone is welcome to join these groups and attend meetings.

Meetings are generally advertised in the Community Billboard section of The Advocate newspaper. Please contact the Council Liaison Officer or the Community contact for each group if you are interested in finding out more. You will then be sent emails from the Community Coordinator to let you know when the next meeting is.

Arts and Culture Group - project ideas include a performing arts centre; Sawtell art centre; an art co-op workshop; a community arts newspaper and school; and Little Pizza My Heart.

Education for Prosperity Group - project ideas include developing a minimum-cost model for all residents to access education and developing a customer service ethos for the city.

Looking after our Community Group - project ideas include an aboriginal cultural centre; youth hubs and recreation facilities; facilities for homeless men; improving disability access.

Looking after our Environment Group - project ideas include a litter and recycling program; natural area restoration projects; wildlife rescue; and water mitigation.

Places for Living Group - project ideas include healthy lifestyle projects such as filtered water refill stations, an outdoor fitness area on Jetty Beach and wheelchair access to the beach; men's refuges; and affordable housing.

Walk Run Ride Group - project ideas include co-ordinated public transport; rail and trams; walkways; and cycle ways.
