You can make informal access requests to Council in the following ways:

• In writing (by post / fax / email)

Contact Council on 6648 4000 and describe the information you require access to.  The Officer will forward your call to the appropriate officer (for example Customer Service, Planning, Information Services, Right to Information officers) to handle your request.

Please read the following information before emailing:

• If you do not give enough details about the information, Council may refuse to process your application.
• There are no charges to lodge a request, however appropriate charges apply to obtain copies of information may apply.  To view current copying costs, please refer to Council's adopted fees and charges or at Council's Administrative Centre and libraries.
• Copies of building certificates are $13.00.  This fee is set in accordance with Regulation 261 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000.  Third parties require the property owner's written consent to obtain a copy.
• Owner's consent is also required for requests for copies of residential floor plans located on Development & Building Applications & Construction Certificate files. 
• When seeking access to personal information an applicant must provide proof of identity in the form of a certified copy of any one of the  following documents:
  • Australian driver's licence (with photograph, signature and current address)
  • Current Australian passport
  • Other proof of signature and current address details
• Requests received are prioritized in date order.
• Depending on staff resources and the number of applications Council is currently handling, your request may take up to 14 working days.
