Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (EMSLA)
The Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (EMSLA), the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery's own prize for Still Life artists, promotes excellence and innovation in Australian still life. It enjoyed a phenomenal inaugural response in 2007. The EMSLA has been kindly funded by Gallery benefactor Dr Mal Eutick.
EMSLA 2008
The Eutick Memorial Still Life Award will be on again in 2008, with total prize money of $22,500:
- $10,000 Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (Dr Mal Eutick)
- $5,000 Regional Artist's Prize (Mike Blewitt's Coffs Coast Prestige)
- $5,000 Local Government Area Prize (FOCUS)
- $2,000 Highly Commended (Estuary Residential Estate @ Moonee Beach)
- $500 Salon des Refusés (Coffs Harbour City Council)
Entries are now being invited from any still life artists residing in Australia. Download the entry form with all the details:
Key dates:
- 8 August 2008: Image, entry form and payment due
- 3 September 2008: Notification of selection or non-selection by post
- 3 October 2008: Last date for delivery of selected works
- 31 October 2008: Opening night and announcement of winner
The inaugural EMSLA Arts Festival is also scheduled for 31 October 2008, together with the opening night of the EMSLA exhibition.

EMSLA 2007
The 2007 EMSLA Award Ceremony and Opening Night took place on Friday, 26 October 2007 and 78 of the best entries were on exhibition at the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery until 9 December. A 'Salon des Refusés' with another 40 works was hung at the Coffs Harbour Regional Museum.

2007 Winners:
- The main $10,000 Eutick Memorial Still Life Award 2007 went to Sam Leach for his painting 'Monitored Skulls'. This award is acquisitive, so the work has entered the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery Collections.
- The $5,000 FOCUS Regional Artist's Award was won by Sara Wade for her entry 'The pitcher'.
- The winner of the $2,000 People's Choice Award,as voted by visitors to the Gallery during the exhibition, was announced on Sunday 9 December: Roger Byrt for his work 'Origami Blue'.
